What Will it Cost?
North London Family Mediation has a contract with the Legal Services Commission under which mediators undertake a means assessment at the initial interview. From this you will be told whether you can receive publicly funded mediation. If you do qualify, mediation is entirely free. It also entitles you to some free Help with mediation from your solicitor, who will be able to give you more information about this.
The charges per person per meeting for those who do not qualify are given below:
First Meeting - Assessment Session £45 per person, 45 min each (90 min for both)

How many mediation sessions will I need?
The mediator will give you an indication at the assessment session. Where children only issues are involved the number of sessions required is usually from one to three. In cases involving property and finance it is usually from three to six.
We are asked by the Legal Services Commission to tell you that if the matter were dealt with through the courts only, you could expect the cost for each of you to be approximately £2,500.
